Netflix to Come to iPhone

After an astounding success as a start up, Netflix has become a mainstay in the United States where it offers DVDs by mail to millions of households that then have the option of keeping the DVDs for as long as they want. Recently, it has begun to expand into the online video rental industry that is blossoming in the US and around the world, offering movies for limited download rental or through a streaming format similar to YouTube. Now the movie renting giant is testing out plans to embark on a platform’s construction that will allow them to rent movies over the iPhone by surveying its subscribers to find out what the interest level in such a platform might be. If analyst estimations are correct, this would mean that large percentage of the Netflix user base already has an iPhone and would be willing to use it to rent videos on the device.
After the success that Sling Media experienced, it is conceivable that Netflix would be able to offer TV episodes and movies via more than just the standard Wi Fi connection, perhaps making use of the AT&T Edge connections to be able to deliver the content. Subscribers would have their choice of the vast Netflix repository of films and TV shows and most likely would not need to pay for the app, instead being able to expand their current Netflix subscription by just a few dollars a month to have iPhone access to the whole library of media.

HTC Growing Wildly in Popularity

There have been a huge number of new competitors entering the smart phone market in the past few years as Apple laid wide open the desire of the masses to own a phone that does far more than make calls, take photos and allow for text messaging. The number of users looking to be able to tap into wireless broadband web features has been sky rocketing and this has lead to massive competition in the market place. One of the most popular of the new competitors is the HTC Desire which has, in a very short amount of time, managed to create a huge amount of hype for itself and then consistently deliver on the high expectations of consumers. The companies revenue for May of 2010 alone is up nearly 50% from the same month in 2009, a growth that has wowed analysts industry wide who have been amazed by the companies $74 billion in revenue pulled in for the first 5 months of 2010 alone. This massive growth shortly after a recession is nearly unheard of for a tech company and definitely shows the strength of the HTC brands, all of which have had a strong focus on quality and ease of use.
Nearly all analysts have stated high expectations for the relatively new entrant to the smart phone wars, particularly due to the brand’s propensity to deliver high levels of satisfaction and be available through consumer friendly web shops such as Dialaphone that offer more personalized service. …

Viruses and Malware Now Going Mobile

It looks as if there may be quite a lot of competition for the iPhone these days, with all sorts of new competitors hitting the market, but there are still a lot of strengths in sticking with the traditional smart phone choice of the iPhone. There are a number of competitors hitting the scene now ranging from Google’s Android operating system phones to new phones that feature a Windows based browser from Microsoft. Unfortunately, things are not all that easy for those companies that are looking to break into the smart phone market and a number of these newer arrivals are having to come up with a way to compete. For Microsoft, things are looking especially difficult as its history of having software that is hacker prone has followed it to the mobile platform where already a range of what is known as malware has begun to affect these phones.
The Redmond, Washington based company has had to struggle with the fact that its operating systems are in such wide use around the world that they are prime targets for those looking to create malicious code that will wreak havoc for users. Shoppers not working with customer support such as Phones4u style web shops offer may be plagued for weeks to no avail. New malware now infects certain devices running Windows Mobile and causes them to call random numbers in countries such as Somalia and even numbers in the South Pole in an effort to irritate and cause …
