Before the Apple iPad came out last year the tablet computer niche was considered a dead end; who wanted to buy a tablet computer when you could get a netbook that was the same size, just as powerful and a lot cheaper. However, Apple truly transformed this sector of the technology market and, as such, the likes of Samsung and RIM are also going into the tablet market and creating their own products. Now that you can get a cheap iPad on the internet it is worth knowing the kind of power that this machine possesses and all of the features that it comes with.
One of the most important and useful features of the Apple iPad is being able to use it as an e-reader. The Kindle is often seen as market leader in e-reading technology however, when you consider all the other features that an iPad has and the Kindle does not, it leaves you wondering why the iPad isn’t always associated with e-reading. Given that the screen is very easy on the eye and that apps such as GoodReader allow you to effortlessly read PDF files while zooming and panning as well; you can see how the iPad should be mentioned in the same breath as the Kindle when it comes to e-reading.
Furthermore, the iPad also benefits from having several apps in which you can get full books (there is even a Kindle app that lets you download some of the new titles just out) and the Newsstand app gives you direct access to a host of newspapers and magazines; both international and domestic. In fact, when you consider that the iPad can be so easily accessible for e-reading as well as having a vast array of multimedia features; it is no surprise that it amounts to 75% of all tablet computers sold worldwide.
