As one of the biggest innovations this year, it turns out that Kinect by Microsoft is going to be one of the biggest sellers as soon as it hits stores – if one is to believe the reports of industry experts. There is a a real movement for the motion gaming style that the Wii first popularized and both Microsoft Kinect and PlayStation Move want to be able to connect with this new group of gamers. According to the word coming from the Redwood, Washington based tech giant’s world wide product marketing manager Ryan Moore, the hard core gaming crowd is who the company wants to lure in with its latest product offering. The interesting thing is, if the word of the online crowd is to be believed, the blogosphere shows a growing consensus among hardcore Xbox gamers that they are simply not all that interested in Kinect nor motion gaming in general. In order to flesh out the offerings, Microsoft is offering an animal based game to appeal to those who are closer in with the camp that enjoys the Nintendo Wii style of games. Whether or not Microsoft can really appeal to hard core gamers with its latest device remains to be seen, but many in this segment of the gamer community have high levels of doubt.
At E3, many were quite disappointed with the offering of the Kinect and had hoped that Microsoft would continue to focus on big titles it is well known for such as Halo or Fable, instead of rolling the dice on a new set of games that might not end up as appealing for the hard core set.
